The GCU Class of '92 proudly leads the way, and as part of our Silver Jubilee celebration, we are delighted to announce a special recognition for our esteemed teachers. The awards are divided into two categories: Posthumous and Living Teachers.
In the Posthumous category, we honor the late Mr. Oteri and late Mr. Akpeghagha, while in the Living Teachers category, we extend our appreciation to Mrs. Theresa Uvieghara and Mr. Stanley O Akpodemrae. Each recipient was chosen through a democratic vote, showcasing the deep gratitude we hold for their impactful roles in shaping our education.
Accompanying these honors are cash prizes, a small token to express our profound remembrance and appreciation for their dedicated service. This initiative aims to highlight the pivotal role teachers play in laying the foundations of society, and we aspire to expand these awards to recognize more educators.
The award committee, led by Barr. Ayo Collins undertook a meticulous effort to make this vision a reality. Hon. Ufuoma Olotu, the Chairman of the Silver Jubilee, personally visited living teachers and the families of posthumous awardees, formally inviting them to our Silver Jubilee celebration, where they will be recognized and celebrated. Hon. Olotu has shown leadership and dedication to this course.
The GCU Class of '92, under the dynamic leadership of our chairman, envisions these awards as just the beginning of our commitment to positively impact lives in unprecedented ways. We look forward to further contributions to society, recognizing and valuing the profound influence of educators. May our efforts be guided and blessed.

ReplyDeleteLife indeed is lived forward but understood backwards. Not all who taught in classrooms are teachers but those who left an imprint on our lives, so we celebrate great icons who helped shaped us through deep-rooted discipline and desire to see us become men of influence and accomplished in divergent fields of life. Thanks to our great teachers. Nothing we offer today may be enough but hope our appreciation and recognition lightens up their soul.
